What is cogeneration?

The solution for efficient energy self-generation.

Cogeneration, also known as CHP (Combined Heat and Power), is a technology that produces electricity and heat simultaneously from a single fuel source, such as natural gas, biogas or other renewable fuels.

Unlike traditional systems, in which most of the energy is dispersed as heat, cogeneration recovers and reuses it, achieving efficiencies of over 90%.

A model of energy efficiency

By recovering  heat, cogeneration significantly reduces fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, offering a sustainable and high-performance alternative for businesses, industries and energy-intensive facilities.

This system is particularly advantageous in contexts where continuous energy production is required, such as hospitals, sports centres, manufacturing industries, nursing homes, hotels, agricultural facilities and district heating networks.

Customised energy for your business
Cogeneration can be broken down into:
Micro-cogeneration

Below 50 kWe, ideal for small businesses such as hotels, swimming
pools, nursing homes, offices and apartment buildings.

Industrial cogeneration

From 50 kWe up to 2 MW, custom-designed for higher energy requirements.

Trigeneration

In addition to electricity and heat, it is also produces chilled water for applications that require cooling (e.g. food industry or temperature-controlled logistics).

Cogeneration is a solution already available to meet the challenges of the energy transition.

It can also be powered by renewable sources such as biogas, syngas and vegetable oils, contributing to the circular economy and the valorisation of waste.

Furthermore, it integrates easily with other technologies such as photovoltaics, heat pumps and storage systems to create a flexible and resilient energy mix.
